Profession: Educator, I work with 40 low-income districts across CA to ensure equitable access to math

Nick has a unique blend of in the classroom, coaching, administrative and systems level experience in the education sector. In each of these roles, Nick brought a critical lens to ‘equity for all’ and worked relentlessly to develop innovative programs and sustainable structures that provide every student equal access to knowledge and the opportunity to thrive.

As an instructional coach, Nick led a strategic planning effort to further access the world of instructional technology that concluded with a $200,000 grant. Additionally, Nick developed a program for Oakland’s expulsion students that led to a 200% increase in passing the high school exit exam, landing him one of Oakland’s Quality Teaching Awards in 2010. In his current role, Nick works with over 40 Title I K-12 school districts in California (totaling 500,000 students) to ensure all students have access to rigorous instruction that provides them a life of opportunities.
